CROSS LAMINATED TIMBER (CLT)

REC Engineers have been designing with Mass Timber for several years.  However, there are many innovations that are transforming the design and construction of exposed timber structures including CLT, concealed connections such as Timberlinx, Resix and Glued-in steel rods.

Mass Timber has been gaining in popularity in recent years due to the positive attributes of sustainability, structural performance, fire resistance, acoustics and energy efficiency. The natural fire resistance allows for fire ratings without additional fireproofing.

In addition to the Mass Timber projects completed previously, we have recently completed projects using CLT panels.

As an added benefit to our clients, all timber design including connections, CLT sizing and specifications are completed by REC Engineers without the need for a delegated design by third party designers, allowing for quick response to questions, RFI’s and shop drawing review.
